GenØk’s project “Genome-editing in Norwegian Aquaculture: providing knowedge-needs on the impact of CRISPR/Cas9 on salmon fish health and environment” has been given funding from Fondsregion Nord-Norge. Project Manager is Arinze Okoli.
The project’s objective is to identify and optimize parameteres for CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing of salon cell-lines and eggs using ISAV and salmon lice infection models. There will also be a workshop on the same topic.
Fondsregion Nord-Norge is a cooperation between the county authorities in Nordland, Troms and Finnmark, and aims to strengthen research for regional innovation and development.
