Visiting experts from Lebanon

On the occasion for the Biodiverseedy workshop, GenØk received two experts in GMO detection visiting from Lebanon. The Lebanese researchers are colaborating in the detection of transgenes in Mexican maize landrace samples to confirm GenØk analysis together with especialists from ET Gretta Abou Sleymane runs a GMO testing facility in Lebanon which is ISO17025 certified. She is also a Lebanese representative for the Network of Laboratories for the Detection and Identification of LMOs under the Cartagena Protocol. Narmeen Mallah is a DNA Testing Specialist at AUST in Lebanon.

The workshop were hold in Tromsø 27 – 29 July with the aim of finding a strategy for the future of the Biodiverseedy project.
