Odd-Gunnar Wikmark from GenØk participated on 15 September in a debate on risk assessments of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in Brussels. Together with Andreas Heissenberger from Austria and Birgit Winkel from Germany he represented national experts who have submitted extensive scientific comments to EFSA.

The debate was organized through an initiative of some of the Members of the European Parliament; Maria Heubuch (Greens, Germany), Maria Noichl (S&D, Germany), Sirpa Pietikäinen (EPP, Finland) and Bart Staes (Greens, Belgium). The panel was composed of national experts, as well as representatives from the European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
