Wednesday 18th September, at 14.00 it was time for an open debate on GM salmon and GM salmon feed at Norges Fiskerihøgskole.
As a part of the National Science Week GenØk – Centre for Biosafety invited to an open panel discussion at Norges Fiskerihøgskole. In the panel were Anne Myhr, director GenØk, Even Søfteland, director CapMare AS, Helene Falch, Regional Manager at Consumer Council and Ragnar Olsen, professor at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science. Marek Cuhra is a research fellow at GenØk was moderator during the debate.
Topics that were discussed included sustainability, good raw materials, consumer concerns, labeling and use of genetic engineering.
GenØk want to thank all who contributed to make the debate both interesting and exciting. We see the importance of setting different stakeholders together to discuss a common theme. This is something we wish to do again.
